This program is designed to provide activities and tools to adult individuals living in the community who have sustained a brain injury. The program will assist in building support networks and confidence and allow the individual to get out in the community more often. The community activities will be chosen by the individuals who are involved with the program and may include such things as going to the movies, going out to eat, or shopping.
The program's goals and objectives are to increase community involvement and awareness, as well as social and recreational skills, so that when the program is complete, participants are better able to access desired social and recreational opportunities independently.
The staff involved will work closely toward meeting each person's individual goals. The program consists of weekly one-on-one activities with their staff member, bimonthly social groups with an occupational therapist, and a monthly group activity available to everyone involved.
The program costs nothing for the individuals in the program. If you want to know more about the program, don't hesitate to contact us at 701-663-0376.
