The 18th Street Program is designed to provide a smaller, quieter, and more structured environment, making it an ideal option for individuals who are sensitive to noise, overwhelmed by busy settings, or have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
This program emphasizes the development of structured routines and individualized support. The instructional approach incorporates evidence-based strategies to:
Address sensory processing needs
Teach and reinforce social skills
Prepare individuals for planned transitions or changes
Expand on personal interests and strengths
Support self-regulation and emotional well-being
Skill-Building Opportunities
Participants also have access to prevocational activities that support skill development and work readiness. These opportunities may include:
Collating and mailing contracts
Light Janitorial Tasks
Delivery assignments within the program or community
A Thoughtfully Designed Environment
To preserve the calm, supportive atmosphere that makes this program effective, admission is intentionally limited. This ensures that everyone receives the attention and structure they need to thrive.
The 18th Street Program offers a highly personalized, low stimulation setting where individuals can grow at their own pace, build skills, and experience success in a way that aligns with their needs and preferences.
