Health Insurance
Our health plan is administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota. This plan is a Qualified High Deductible Health Plan (QHDHP). By enrolling in this plan, you are eligible to participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA), administered by Discovery Benefits.
Note: Specialty drugs must be received from the preferred Specialty Pharmacy network.
If you get Health Insurance through HIT, Inc. you are able to participate in the BCBSND Healthy Blue online wellness portal and the Health Club Credit.

What does the plan cost?
Premium is deducted on a pre-tax basis from 1st and 2nd paychecks of the month.
Pre-tax so you do not pay taxes on the cost of the premium.

Each month Head Start makes a contribution to your HSA based on your plan. The employee may contribute additional amount.
These funds can be to be used for out-of-pocket medical and prescription expenses. For more information refer to IRS Publication 502. In addition, you may use your HSA for qualified dental and vision expenses.
